Urchin and the Fairy Lights
Urchin was quite keen to get a closer look at the Christmas decorations. They seemed to pass her inspection.

Calculating the odds
Urchin was calculating the odds of being able to climb the jackets to the top of the door. She decided that discretion was the better part of valour.

It's that time of year again
After ignoring it for nine months, Urchin has again discovered the hammock. Extreme comfort for colder weather.

Late Summer
This very determined, slightly thuggish expression is very characteristic of Urchin! As is curling her tail over her back like a Pekinese dog. The weather was beautiful today, so she made the most of it, strutting around in the fallen leaves and keeping an eye on the squirrels.

Heart-shaped cat
Urchin's favourite place in the garden is still on top of the hose. It is the prime position for letting her know if anything exciting is happening with water. But lately she has been assuming this position - Sphinx-like, but heart-shaped from the front.

Urchin and the gravy
Urchin only gets soft food once a week - she's mostly on kibble formulated for Maine Coons. But she does get very excited about soft food day. We've tried her on a variety of different fancy pouches, but there is really only one that she likes. And she mostly likes it because of the gravy. We usually add a little extra hot water to the dish to maximise the gravy and she hoovers it down.
Then she lapses into what we call gravy-coma. A long, deep nap like your uncle after Christmas lunch.
This head-down, belly-up pose was on Friday, just before the coma overtook her.

Urchin and the box
Urchin isn't as cardboard-orientated as some cats are. You can leave a box out and she'll give it a sniff but not be remotely interested in getting into it. But yesterday she thought I needed her help in breaking down this one for recycling.

Urchin and the box
A couple of months ago, we bought a sheepskin rug to put on top of this storage box, for enhanced cat comfort. Urchin was thoroughly horrified and has utterly refused to sit on it. This is her demonstrating how happy she is that the evil comfy sheepskin has been taken away.
Paul now has the sheepskin on his chair. It's an effective way to reserve his spot.
