Urchin and the box

Urchin isn't as cardboard-orientated as some cats are. You can leave a box out and she'll give it a sniff but not be remotely interested in getting into it. But yesterday she thought I needed her help in breaking down this one for recycling.

A couple of months ago, we bought a sheepskin rug to put on top of this storage box, for enhanced cat comfort. Urchin was thoroughly horrified and has utterly refused to sit on it. This is her demonstrating how happy she is that the evil comfy sheepskin has been taken away.

Paul now has the sheepskin on his chair. It's an effective way to reserve his spot.

Impossible to believe she is 5. She still seems like such a baby, but I can't really remember what life was like before our hairy companion came along.

This is less obstructive than it looks - Paul didn't need his computer. The study is the coolest room in the house and hairy cats were finding the weather a little warm for the last few days.

It's that time of year again where birdboxes become very interesting. As far as we know, nobody is nesting in this one, fortunately. But some blue tits have visited, so it does smell fascinating.
